From 2023 the Karrakatta Plate runs in mid-April as a key act to The Quokka.
The 2023 Karrakatta Plate form was franked with Super Smink winning the WA Sires’ next start and later finishing top three in a host of subsequent stakes races including a third in the WA Guineas that November.

Lots of promising 2YOs who could prove up to this but have landed on the well-bred favourite Yes Queen who is a daughter of former The Everest hero Yes Yes Yes. Dion Luciani’s filly gets her chance at a lucrative win after two close seconds this prep. After a winning debut here last November in the Crystal Slipper, she resumed when runner-up behind Luana Miss in the Supremacy Stakes going down as the odds-on elect. There was nothing to spare on the line at her latest when coming from last on the turn to nearly take out the Group 3 Gimcrack going down a nostril flare to Talkanco when carrying a kilo more than the winner. She gets the weight advantage now down from 56.5kg to 55kg, draws well with gate six and Willie Pike sticks with. Can win.
