Many of the race entrants will come via a run in Doomben’s Group 2 Spirit Of Boom Classic (1200m) held at Doomben Racecourse a fortnight earlier and will continue onto a Stradbroke Handicap Day run in the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m).
The BRC Sires’ Produce / JJ Atkins double was last achieved by Sizzling (2012), the filly Sheeza Belter (2022), and Godolphin star Broadsiding (2024).
Cifrado (2023) and Cool Archie (2025) are the latest horses to complete the Spirit Of Boom Classic / BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes double.
The form of the 2021 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes was franked with the runner-up Converge going on to win the Group 1 JJ Atkins that season, while the winner Tiger Of Malay finished third in that mile showdown on Stradbroke Handicap Day.
Broadsiding franked the BRC Sires’ form from 2024 winning the JJ Atkins at his next start as well as the spring’s Golden Rose Stakes in Sydney before a third in that October’s Ladbrokes Cox Plate trifecta.
The BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes 2025 ran on Saturday May 31, 2025 as part of Kingsford Smith Cup Day in Brisbane and saw the Chris & Corey Munce trained Cool Archie ($7) post his fourth straight win with a dominant 2.84 length romp home on a Heavy (10) track.

Stay tuned for our insider BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes 2025 Tips on the million-dollar showdown this winter in Brisbane.
- To Win: #2 Gallo Nero ($4.40 at time of publish)
GALLO NERO (8) is favourite in the markets for this year’s BRC Sires’ and happy to tip him second-up to turn the tables on the airborne COOL ARCHIE (13). The progressive Hawkes trained colt was excellent fresh going down by just a nose on a Heavy (8) Doomben track in the Group 2 Spirit Of Boom Classic which looks the right form line to follow into Saturday’s million-dollar showdown. He gets the benefit of an extra furlong now and presents fitter for his eye-catching return where he made up plenty of late ground only to run out of time by a narrow margin. Firmer ground and better barrier than his last start conqueror for the rematch also put him at an advantage. Won second-up previously and Tyler Schiller retains the ride. Ran third to O’ Ole in the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic back in January on a Good (4) so has the improvement in him to win this.
