Aside from the 2010 Cox Plate, one of the most anticipated races on the Moonee Valley race-card today is Race 5, the $300,000 Group 2 Schweppes Stakes (1200m), set to jump at 3:20pm (AEDST).
The 2010 Schweppes Stakes final field was robbed of one of its stars earlier in the week when boom sprinter Hay List was not accepted for the race, however there are still six track champions ready to fight it out today.
Hot favourite is unsurprisingly Black Caviar, Peter Moody’s unbeaten mare who stormed back onto the racing scent earlier in the month to claim an emphatic win in the Schillaci Stakes.
Drawn ideally in barrier two and set to be ridden by Moody’s stable jockey Luke Nolen, Black Caviar is dominating the Schweppes Stakes odds paying $1.50 to win at Luxbet.
However, as brilliant as Black Caviar is, the Races.com.au team are tipping an upset and are backing Hot Danish to win today.

The Les Bridge-trained Hot Danish showed she had lost none of her steam with two first-up victories in Sydney this season, both of which were impeccable runs.
With a devastating record over the 1200m, Hot Danish is a great value pick at $4.60.
The field may be small in today’s Schweppes Stakes but the quality of the runners is second to none.
Two other horses high up the betting that we fancy to Place, aside from the favourite Black Caviar, are Melito and Stanzout.
The Gerald Ryan-trained Melito is a smart Redoute’s Choice mare resuming racing after a spell.
Before the rest, the four-year-old won the Winter Stakes at Eagle Farm and was also a gallant second to Black Piranha in the Stradbroke Handicap in the autumn.
Stanzout is our best roughie to add value in your exotics, the eight-year-old gelding due to jump from barrier five.
