The Cox Plate 2021 trifecta was completed by Chris Waller’s reigning Australian Racehorse of the Year Verry Elleegant who jumped the $3.60 equal favourite in 2021 Cox Plate betting with the James Cummings-trained Anamoe.
The 2021 Cox Plate winner State Of Rest and jockey John Allen survived a protest lodged by Anamoe and his hoop Craig Williams, which took the stewards 20 minutes to dismiss.
