The 2012 Cox Plate Results saw the Gary Hennessy-trained Ocean Park become the third four-year-old in as many years to win the Australasian weight-for-age championship race. The smart stallion backed-up from a win in the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes to salute in the Cox Plate 2012 as a $6 shot in betting, while the race favourite Green Moon ran seventh.
2012 Cox Plate winner Ocean Park defeated the Team Hawkes-trained three-year-old All Too Hard by a quarter-length, while the trifecta was rounded out by Gai Waterhouse’s star colt Pierro who ran four lengths off the winner for third.
