No value in tipping Broadsiding to win the Caulfield Guineas but finding it hard to tip against the proven and deserving odds-on elect from the Godolphin stable. He is already a two-time Group 1 winner at the mile distance having won both the Champagne Stakes in Syndey and Brisbane’s J.J. Atkins as a two-year-old. Fresh he made history as the inaugural first-up champ in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m). Presents fitter for that run and will appreciate getting back up to 1600m. James McDonald rides. Only query is the Melbourne way of racing with this being his first Victorian run since a fourth at Ballarat on debut. Too good to go past.
Caulfield Guineas betting is hugely popular each October when the Group 1 mile race for three-year-olds runs during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

A Caulfield Guineas exacta is a bet on the two horses that will finish in first and second, in exact order. If you had an exacta on the 2024 race with Feroce in first and Private Life in second, then you would have lost. If you had the exacta in the reverse order, then you would have won.
If you aren’t confident in picking the exacta correctly, then it is better to consider a quinella or a box exacta bet that will cover multiple combinations.
Caulfield Guineas Trifecta
First, a reminder of what a trifecta is for those who are unfamiliar with the bet.
A trifecta is a bet on which horses will place first, second and third – in exact order. For example, a winning Caulfield Guineas trifecta in the 2024 race would have:
1st – Private Life
2nd – Feroce
3rd – Evaporate
The horses are chosen in exact order of their finishing. If Evaporate had come third and Feroce had come second, this bet would not have won.
