Further heavy rain in Sydney has resulted in Randwick Racecourse being downgraded to a Heavy 10.
The track, which initially began as a Heavy 8 was lowered to a Heavy 10 after the running of the Listed Keith Mackay Quality in Race 3 on Doncaster Mile Day.
The already reduced track conditions have led to a number of scratchings throughout all nine races at Randwick today, including Palacio De Cristal from the $2 million Doncaster Mile.
With track conditions deteriorating further as the rain rumbles in, and with the track currently recognised as the lowest possible rating, the possibility of the abandonment of the meeting is looming close.
