Nominations have closed for the time-honoured Group 1 $3 million Caulfield Guineas (1600m) ahead of the three-year-old’s classic on October 12 with 103 early entries taken for this year’s showdown.

The iconic mile event at Caulfield Racecourse always draws a highly competitive field with a class list of nominees heading towards the race again in 2024.
The James Cummings-trained Broadsiding heads updated all-in Caulfield Guineas odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au.
The Too Darn Hot colt is a dominant $3.20 top elect pre-field following a sensational juvenile campaign headlined by Group 1 mile victories in the Champagne Stakes and J.J. Atkins.
Godolphin’s head trainer down under, Cummings, has five horses nominated for the 2024 Caulfield Guineas as he chases his third win in four years.
Cummings two Caulfield Guineas wins came with Anamoe (2021) and Golden Mile (2022) back-to-back.
The only other single-figure fancy in the current Caulfield Guineas betting markets at $6 is the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Storm Boy.
Waterhouse & Bott have seven Caulfield Guineas nominations in total chasing their maiden success.
Last year’s Caulfield Guineas winner was Griff prepared by former partnership Ciaron Maher & David Eustace.
Maher is now a solo trainer with four nominees this year looking for successive victories with promising Snitzel colt Deconstruction and Group 2 winning Rubick filly Erno’s Cube considered the most likely for the stable.
Eleven fillies in total feature in this year’s Caulfield Guineas nominations looking to be the first since Surround back in 1976 to beat home the boys.
The 2024 Caulfield Guineas first acceptances close on September 24.
