Whitefriars wins the 2011 Australia Stakes from Undeniably
Undeniably jumped well from barrier 5 to lead by a length at the start and drew the field along at a good pace. Whitefriars, with jockey Jim Cassidy, sat just off Undeniably the whole race before leveling around the final turn. Undeniably managed to pull ahead slightly but was finally caught by Whitefriars.
Star mare and hot race favourite Typhoon Tracy sat in third, just off the leading pair, for the entire race and could not catch them in the straight to hold onto third from a strong finishing Ortensia.
5-year-old gelding Whitefriars, trained by Rick Worthington, has now won 6 from 20 career starts and earned over $600,000 in prize money.
