Chris Waller‘s classy Kiwi expat Movin Out is the filly to beat in Adelaide on Saturday heading the markets on the 2025 Australasian Oaks.

Morphettville‘s Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival gets into full swing this weekend with a double shot of elite level racing for Robert Sangster Stakes Day including the three-year-old fillies facing off in the Group 1 $1 million Australasian Oaks (2000m).
The field features 16 of the season’s more promising young stayers, and the latest Australasian Oaks betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au have Movin Out as the $3.80 favourite after she drew the rails.
Jockey Ben Melham retains the ride from barrier one on the former New Zealander who broke her Australian maiden last Saturday with a 2.5 length victory over the Mornington mile.
That was an improved effort on her last when ninth in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) in Sydney two back and she presents fit and full of confidence now back up in class and distance.
Waller chases his third Australasian Oaks success after his earlier victories with Egg Tart (2017) and Toffee Tongue (2020).
Favourites have a strong recent record with the shortest-priced in Australasian Oaks betting saluting seven times from 2006 – 2024 most recently with Toffee Tongue ($5 in 2020) and Princess Jenni ($3.30 in 2019).
The danger at current Australasian Oaks odds of $4.20 is Benagil drawn wider out in gate 13 with jockey Mark Zahra to ride the Glen Thompson trained daughter of Manhattan Rain.
After a first-up win at Caulfield over the mile she was eye-catching in the Vinery running a brave second at double figures behind Treasurethe Moment on April 1.
The Vinery form was franked with the winner going on to continue her ace three-year-old season with an ATC Oaks triumph and it could be the right form lines to follow into the Morphettville race now.
In an open top half of betting two other fillies are currently at single figures for the win with Polymnia ($6.50) and Cinch ($7).
Jamie Melham partners Polymnia from gate 14 for John O’Shea & Tom Charlton with the consistent Dundeel filly being kept safe in the markets to overcome the wide draw.
She comes off four top two runs this preparation with the latest seeing her under a half-length beaten by Belle Detelle at Randwick on April 5 in the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) over this distance.
Cinch meanwhile has been an early Australasian Oaks fancy all season, and she chases a fourth win on the trot now.
The Ben, Will & JD Hayes trained filly is another daughter of Dundeel who is bred to stay proven by her impressive Group 3 Tasmanian Oaks (2100m) triumph by three lengths back in February.
She won again fresh on April 12 here at Morphettville in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes (1800m) and should relish getting out over further again on the weekend.
The Auraria Stakes is the key lead-up to the Group 1 including producing four of the nine winners from 2012 – 2024 with Sopressa (2018) the latest to do the double.
Other notable hopes further down the markets presenting potential value include John & Chris Ledger‘s daughter of D’Argento All Kinds Of Folk ($13) who ran second in the Auraria Stakes and Too Darn Lizzie ($15).
By sire of the season Too Darn Hot, the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott trained Too Darn Lizzie, who ran third in last year’s Group 1 Thousand Guineas, comes off a host of Group placings in Melbourne and has the class to run another good placing here.
The 2025 Australasian Oaks is set to run as Morphettville Race 7 at 3:37pm (ACST).
