James Cummings‘ three-time Group 1 champion Broadsiding will jump favourite in Rosehill Guineas 2025 betting on Golden Slipper Day this weekend looking to win back the love of the punters.

The talented Too Darn Hot colt gets another chance third-up and fit in Saturday’s Group 1 $750,000 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) in Sydney after going down as the beaten favourite when a half-length second to Linebacker in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) last time out.
That came on the back of a win in the Group 2 Hobartville, and the markets suggest Broadsiding can bounce back and return to form up in distance in the Rosehill Guineas field.
His only other run over the distance was in Melbourne’s iconic Cox Plate (2040m) at The Valley last October when a brave but distant third behind runaway champion Via Sistina.
Cummings won the Rosehill Guineas a few years back with Anamoe (2022) and Rosehill Guineas markets at Ladbrokes.com.au suggest he can collect another trophy with Broadsiding the firm $2.05 top fancy in 2025.
The Rosehill Guineas field attracted 11 final acceptors with Broadsiding, to be ridden by two-time winning hoop James McDonald, drawn barrier nine.
The danger occupying the second line of the markets at Ladbrokes.com.au is the consistent Swiftfalcon ($5) for Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes.
Tyler Schiller partners the Exceedance gelding from a favourable gate four draw third-up after back-to-back placings in the traditional Rosehill Guineas lead-up races.
Fresh, Swiftfalcon was runner-up to Broadsiding only a length beaten in the Hobartville before he rounded out the Randwick Guineas trifecta again just one length off the winner.
He gets to his preferred track at Rosehill now where he boasts previous winning form (4:1-2-0) and where he most recently ran second to El Castello in the spring’s Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m).
The other best in betting is the Andrew Gluyas trained South Australian raider Goldrush Guru at $5.50 in gate seven with Jamie Melham in the saddle.
The American Pharoah colt was a terrific 1.5 length Group 1 VRC Derby winner last spring at Flemington over 2500m.
He’s had three runs this campaign improving each time out with his latest being a brave third in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m).
The proven young stayer will relish getting out in trip now fit and ready to return to his best in his Sydney race debut.
The rails drawn Aeliana ($7) taking on the boys in this year’s Rosehill Guineas rounds out the single figure hopes at time of publish.
Chris Waller’s Castelvecchio filly is the sole girl in the race this season with Jason Collett continuing associations on last year’s Thousand Guineas runner-up.
She has more than held her own this campaign against similar fields of rivals when third in the Hobartville Stakes and fourth in the Randwick Guineas.
Just eight fillies have beaten home the colts and geldings in this event throughout history with Riverina Charm (1989) the latest giving Aeliana a notable hoodoo to overcome this weekend.
The 2025 Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas is scheduled as Rosehill Race 6 at 3:25pm (AEDT) on Saturday.
