The weather in Sydney today is mostly cloudy but otherwise fine after yesterday’s rain, and there is unlikely to be any change from the current Soft (6) Rosehill track rating.
Rosehill racing gets underway at 12:25pm (AEDT) and the bumper 10-race card continues through until 6:00pm (AEDT).
Punters are treated to a triple-shot of Group 2 racing across the afternoon starting with Race 4 at 2:10pm (AEDT) with the fillies and mares facing off in the Group 2 $200,000 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m).
The 2022 Millie Fox Stakes field features all eight original acceptors with markets at Ladbrokes.com.au led by Mark Newnham’s Belle Of The Turf Stakes winner Expat.
The next of the feature races is scheduled as Race 6 at 3:25pm (AEDT) with a field of Golden Slipper-bound two-year-olds running in the Group 2 $250,000 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m).
The 2022 Silver Slipper Stakes field is down to 10 with five scratchings – #4 Emperor (10), #5 Zambezi River #10 Psychiatrist (4), #12 Miss Hellfire (14) – and updated odds have the the rails-drawn filly Queen Of The Ball on top.
The meeting’s feature race is of course the highly-anticipated Group 2 $400,000 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) set to run as Race 8 at 4:55pm (AEDT).
The 2022 Hobartville Stakes field is down to 11 Randwick Guineas hopefuls following four early scratchings led by Victoria Derby runner-up #3 Alegron (4) who runs in Caulfield’s Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) in Melbourne today.
His stablemate Anamoe is odds-on favourite second-up in Hobartville Stakes betting and looks hard to beat.
