Little separates regular rivals See You Soon and Dame Giselle in the Silver Shadow Stakes 2020 betting markets in Sydney on Saturday with the two smart fillies set to face off for the sixth time first-up on Winx Stakes Day.

A key act on the Group 1 race card, the Group 2 $200,000 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) is scheduled to run as Race 4 at 1:45pm (AEST) featuring a host of potential 2020 Flight Stakes-bound fillies.
Of the ten final acceptors, it is the Jean Dubois-trained See You Soon ($3.40) followed closely by Dame Giselle ($3.90) sitting top of the Silver Shadow Stakes odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au.
The two fillies have met five times previously, most recently in the Group 3 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) when finishing fourth (Dame Giselle) and third (See You Soon) behind Away Game during ‘The Championships’ back in April.
Their rivalry began back in October last year when the duo debuted in Randwick’s $125,000 Kirkham (1000m), the Goulburn-based Siyouni filly See You Soon saluting and Dame Giselle crossing a close second.
The tables were turned at Rosehill next start in November’s $1 million Golden Gift (1100m) where Team Snowden’s daughter of I Am Invincible, Dame Giselle, broke her maiden status and See You Soon ran nearly four lengths back second when luckless from the wide barrier (13 of 14).
In the autumn they met for a third time resuming in the Group 2 Reilsing Stakes (1200m) and again ran the quinella, Dame Giselle just nudging See You Soon out by the narrowest of margins in a thrilling showdown.
The two then stepped-up in grade for the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) running eighth (See You Soon) and seventh (Dame Giselle) behind Farnan in the world’s richest race for two-year-olds before closing their campaigns in the aforementioned Percy Sykes.
All eyes will be on them again as they kick off their spring bids in what is tipped to be another close encounter, See You Soon coming out just on top in betting after drawing barrier one for jockey Sam Clipperton.
Dame Giselle meanwhile has more work to do from the wider gate nine draw, jockey Tommy Berry coming aboard her for the first time.
Berry chases back-to-back Silver Shadow Stakes wins having ridden Libertini (2019) to victory for Anthony Cummings last season.
Outside of the dominant duo the other best in the markets at current Silver Shadow Stakes odds of $4.80 is the Kris Lees-trained Redoute’s Image in gate eight for jockey Jason Collett.
A consistent daughter of star sire Redoute’s Choice, the Australian Bloodstock-raced bay has her seventh start on Saturday chasing her second win after breaking her maiden status two back over 1100m at Canterbury.
She won on a Heavy (8) that day and was far from disgraced last start on August 12 when second behind Bothered on a Heavy (9) at Warwick Farm, so gets conditions to suit at Randwick on the weekend.
Lees will also saddle-up $19 chance Miss Canada who is drawn well in gate two as she steps up in grade off a last start victory in a three-years-old maiden over 900m at Newcastle on August 13.
The early Silver Shadow Stakes market mover meanwhile is Kaakit Akit ($9) in the outside alley, the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Artie Schiller filly looking fit off two trials following her last start flop when 11th to Thermosphere in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill in mid-March.
Thermosphere ($10) has also been accepted in the Silver Shadow Stakes field, James Cummings’ daughter of Exosphere looking to atone for her 14th in the Golden Slipper following her Group 3 Magic Night victory.
The form filly in the mix chasing a third win on the trot is the Chris Waller-trained September Run ($10) to be ridden by James McDonald from barrier seven.
Fourth to Away Game in the Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) at the track back in February, September Run was given an easier time over the winter.
She won a two-years-old fillies’ maiden at Canterbury over 1200m on May 6 before her last start Black-Type success at Doomben in a 1100m Listed event later that month.
