Flemington Finals Day 2020: Scratchings & Track Report

Flemington Racecourse is host to the always popular Finals Day race card today, Saturday July 4, and below we take a look at the official Saturday race scratchings at HQ and the latest Flemington track report ahead of race one.

Showers are forecast for Flemington today with the chance of rain increasing in the afternoon meaning there is unlikely to be an the current Soft (7) Flemington track rating.

Flemington racing kicks off at 11:50am (AEST) and the nine-race card continues through until the last at 4:37pm (AEST).

There are three official Black-Type, Listed feature races on the Finals Day program starting with Race 3 at 1:00pm (AEST) where the two-year-old milers face off in the Listed $120,000 Taj Rossi Series Final (1600m).

The field for the Taj Rossi is down to 10 following a trio of early scratchings and updated markets at Ladbrokes.com.au have the undefeated Cherry Tortoni – a youngster with family ties to the champion Tie The Knot – as the firming $2.40 favourite.

The Listed $128,000 All Victorian Sprint Series Final (1200m) runs as Race 5 at 2:10pm (AEST) and all 10 original acceptors remain in the mix including the $4.80 top elect I Am Someone.

The penultimate event is the Listed $128,000 VRC Winter Championship Series Final (1600m) with a field of 16 including the second two emergencies following three scratchings including the well-ed Shot Of Irish and first spare Noble Boy.
