Quick Thinker found himself back in the winners circle at Rosehill on Saturday after winning the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) in a brilliant staying performance.

The favourite had all the favours with James McDonald on board but the champion jockey quickly found himself wide on the final turn before kicking home at the 200m mark to win comfortably by a length and a half.
The So You Think colt came close in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill a fortnight ago but seemed better suited on the Soft ground stepping up in trip.
“He is a proven wet tracker, he got through it well, he is fit and he’ll be a force to be reckoned with come the Derby,” McDonald told Sky Racing after the ride.
Quick Thinker’s last win came back in August in a Group 3 race at Rosehill and he is now hoping to become the fourth consecutive winner of the Tulloch to go on and complete the Group 1 Australian Derby double.
Quick Thinker firmed from $23 into $13.00 with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of the 2020 ATC Derby on April 4 at Randwick as trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman hope to win the race for the second time in four years after Jon Snow’s victory in 2016.
There has also been a move for second place-getter Zebrowksi ($26.00), who fought hard to beat home Diasonic.
