The William Haggas-trained UK raider Addeybb is dominating Ranvet Stakes 2020 betting for his debut down under this weekend at Rosehill Gardens.

The first of five elite level races on the Golden Slipper Day program in Sydney, the Group 1 $700,000 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) field is down to eight starters after the withdrawal of the Kris Lees-trained Mugatoo.
In-form Canberra Cup winner Mugatoo, who was drawn in barrier four, will instead chase a fourth straight win earlier in the day taking on a field of Sydney Cup hopefuls in the Group 3 NE Manion Cup (2400m).
Coming into barrier five then for jockey Tom Marquand is talented Pivotal gelding Addeybb who has excellent form over the 2000m distance (4:1-1-2) back in the UK.
He hasn’t raced since a second to Magical in Ascot’s Group 1 Champion Stakes (2012m) last October, but races well fresh and is being kept safe in betting firming into a short $2.35 in the latest Ranvet Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au.
Occupying the second line of Ranvet Stakes betting at $3.70 is then the Godolphin-raced Avilius, the fellow six-year-old Pivotal gelding defending his title in the event.
Looking to become the first dual Ranvet Stakes winner since Theseo (2009-10), Avilius races fourth-up in the Ranvet Stakes field from barrier two with Hugh Bowman to ride.
It has been a little while between drinks for Avilius whose last victory was in Randwick’s Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) back in September.
His last start produced a fifth behind Fifty Stars at Flemington on Super Saturday in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) and he returns to Rosehill for the first time since completing the Ranvet – Tancred Stakes double in the wet this time last year.
“He’s returned to Sydney in good shape,” trainer James Cummings told AAP this week.
“He looks likely to get his preferred soft ground and has had the desirable three runs to be fit for this assignment.
“I’d say that he sets up well to defend his Ranvet title, but he’ll have to fend off a very classy Royal Ascot winner (Addeybb).”
The other single-figure fancy in the mix is Chris Waller’s multiple Group 1 winning mare Verry Elleegant at $4.40 who is sure to appreciate the Soft rated track.
Silent Achiever (2014) is the only mare to top the Ranvet Stakes results since Tuesday Joy (2008), however that could change on Saturday with Zed four-year-old Verry Elleegant looking fit third-up.
She is unbeaten at Rosehill having won the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes – Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes double in the wet here last autumn and looked good last time out at big odds when only a half-length back second in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m).
The Chipping Norton Stakes form is tipped to hold up in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) with the winner Te Akau Shark chasing the double, while Verry Elleegant should relish the extra distance going up to 2000m in the Ranvet.
Waller won the Ranvet Stakes back in 2013 with Foreteller and dominates this year’s field numbers wise with a total of four runners.
Outside of Verry Elleegant his next best fancied runner at Ranvet Stakes odds of $10 is Mastercraftsman mare Danzdanzdance to be ridden by Kiwi hoop Opie Bosson.
