The Melbourne forecast for Super Saturday is for a partly cloudy but otherwise fine day and with no chance of any serious rainfall the current Soft (6) Flemington track rating should remain across the afternoon.
Flemington racing kicks off this afternoon at 12:20pm (AEDT) and the nine-race card continues through until 5:20pm (AEDT).
The meeting is headlined by two Group 1 Melbourne Festival of Racing features starting with race six at 3:25pm (AEDT) where 11 sprinters remain in the mix for the Group 1 $1.5 million Newmarket Handicap (1200m) after the scratchings of Halvorsen (9) and Mystyko (1).
Updated Newmarket Handicap odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au have the returning Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Exceedance ($3.90) as the one to beat first-up down the straight.
The other feature race on the program is the penultimate event, the Group 1 $1.5 million Australian Cup (2000m) at 4:45pm (AEDT) where all 14 original acceptors remain including the firming $3.60 favourite for Godolphin Avilius.
