Peter & Paul Snowden’s evergreen sprinter Dothraki has opened clear favourite in the 2018 Hall Mark Stakes field and odds for Saturday on All Aged Stakes Day in Sydney.

The first of the Group status acts on the Royal Randwick card this weekend, the Group 3 $150,000 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m) is set to run as Race 3 at 1:10pm (AEST) and has attracted a nine-starter field.
Last Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival father and son trainers Peter & Paul Snowden prepared the Hall Mark Stakes winner Redzel who went on to frank the form in the spring taking out The Everest – Darley Classic dual state double.
Twelve months on and the stable return saddling-up current favourite in Hall Mark Stakes betting, Dothraki at a quote of $3 through Ladbrokes.com.au to hand Team Snowden back-to-back wins.
A seven-year-old son of Mossman, Dothraki comes off three straight top two runs including his win in the Group 3 Maurice McCarten Stakes (1100m) two back at Rosehill.
His last start was also at the Rosehill track when narrow runner-up to Spright on March 31 in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m).
Given a brief freshen-up since, Dothraki races at Royal Randwick this weekend for the first time since his second when a neck off Kaepernick in the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) back in February.
He’s been to the track 10 times for just the one win, but is racing in consistent form and shapes up as a genuine winning hope over the distance from gate six with Tye Angland aboard.
In an open affair a further four runners are also at single-figure Hall Mark Stakes odds including Burning ion ($5) and Bolero King ($5.50).
The Mark Newnham-trained Northern Meteor six-year-old Burning ion is looking to break a winning drought that goes back to June last year in Brisbane.
He was third two back in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) under a length off the winner Crack Me Up before the seventh in the Star Kingdom Stakes when two lengths beaten in a blanket finish off a luckless run.
His third-up record is solid and Burning ions presents fit with the two close runs under his belt.
Bolero King also comes off a string of nice runs, the Clarry Conners-trained Nicconi five-year-old winning two on the trot in non black-type company before his third in the Star Kingdom Stakes.
That could prove the form line to follow into Saturday, but Bolero King needs to improve rising three kilos up to 56kg here.
The other hopes under $10 for the win that the bookies are keeping safe are early market mover Firsthand ($6) for Hawkes Racing who has strong form over the distance (4:3-0-1) in easier class and the Kim Waugh-trained Dylan Thomas seven-year-old Oxford Poet ($8.50).
