After the Tancred Stakes has been run and won on Saturday, the three-year-old ATC Oaks-bound fillies face off in the Group 1 $500,000 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at 4:10pm (AEDT).

The Vinery Stud Stakes field is down to 13 after the Thursday afternoon scratching of the John Sargent-trained Luvaluva (13) on a vet’s certificate.

Last start winner of the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic (1600m) and proven at the distance, the Mastercraftsman filly was found to be suffering from an elevated white cell count and will need to a veterinary clearance before racing again this Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

With one of the major dangers out, the updated Vinery Stud Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au have firmed on a number of the remaining hopefuls including the Chris Waller-trained favourite Unforgotten ($4.40) who was to be ridden the three-time winning hoop Hugh Bowman before the late change due to illness.

After beating the boys home in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) last time out to take her Rosehill record up to three-from-three, the bookies are taking no chances with the daughter of Fastnet Rock this weekend.

Earlier we published a comprehensive Vinery Stud Stakes 2018 Form Guide & Betting Preview, our below tips on the race based on the facts and stats uncovered.

Our 2018 Vinery Stud Stakes Trifecta Tip is #6 Rimraam from #12 Semari and #7 Unforgotten

1st

#6 Rimraam ($16)

Happy to go out and suggest another double-figure winner in this Lindsay Park-trained filly at a nice price. She’s drawn a treat in barrier three with Damien Oliver in the saddle and wasn’t far off when fourth in the Kembla Grange Classic last time out. Winner of that is out and she’s got two placings from two previous 2000m starts. Best place rate of the field (82%) and looks fit and ready to return to winning form.

2nd

#12 Semari ($16)

In-form filly coming off back-to-back wins in easier class. Can prove herself at this level with a good gate and Craig Williams aboard. 50% win rate and has saluted at 2000m so the distance is a non-issue. Is fit and firing, needs to lift but if she does that she’s genuine value.

3rd

#7 Unforgotten ($7.50)

Waller-trained favourite was to have Bowman aboard, but McEvoy is a nice replacement. Back against her own kind after the Phar Lap Stakes, form that hasn’t really been tested in this race much. It’s an open field and if she’s good enough and fit enough she can win.
