A well-bred four-year-old son of So You Think, Care To Think continues his outstanding summer form making it five wins on the trot with a class win in the Gold Coast’s Restricted Listed $1 million Magic Millions Cup (1400m).

Relishing a drop down from 56.5kg to 54kg on Saturday with jockey Jeff Lloyd retaining the ride, Care To Think got away well from the outside barrier 16 of 16 draw in the million dollar handicap.

From there he was always in a position to win racing three wide, boasting a one and a quarter-length winning margin over the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained runner-up Arbeitsam ($14) to salute for the punters as the $3.10 favourite.

In third rounding out the Magic Millions Cup trifecta nearly four lengths beaten was the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained roughie Snippets Land ($31).

“He jumped a lot quicker than he normally does, so straight away I changed tactics,” winning hoop Lloyd said on Saturday.

“I didn’t get in, but I only had a couple of horses to make up.

“He’s a horse that just seems to have no luck at all.

“He was wide first-up and then wide again today, but he keeps winning and he’s improving all the time.”

A $16,000 bargain buy for connections, of which Dunn is part of the ownership, Care To Think has now amassed over $840,000 in prize money over his short 11 start career that has netted six wins and three seconds.

“We didn’t pay much money for him but we had some trouble with him,” Dunn told Racing Queensland.

“A lot of people bought little shares in him and they split them up into even smaller shares.”

The autumn – winter racing options are now wide open for Care To Think with Dunn looking at both Sydney and Melbourne, as well as a return to Queensland during the winter for something like the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben Racecourse in June.

“That is my biggest win and he is the best horse I have had. We have known that for a while,” Dunn said post-win.

“We could go to Sydney or Melbourne but the best option might be up here.

“I think he’s very special. If I can keep him in one piece, who knows where he will end up.

“He’s always been a little bit fragile, but we’ve been patient and it’s paying dividends.”
