The time-honoured Bribie Handicap 2017 takes place at Doomben Racecourse on the weekend and early money is rolling in for the returning Mel Eggleston-trained All Over Bosanova.

Set to run as Doomben Race 6 at 3:32pm (AEST), this season’s Listed $100,000 Bribie Handicap (1050m) summer sprint showdown is down to 13 runners after the early scratching of Invincible Express (12).
Heading the updated Bribie Handicap odds at Ladbrokes.com.au paying $3.90 to salute first-up is the consistent Court Command mare All Over Bosanova.
She has had eight starts for five wins and a second to date and was last seen winning the Listed Daybreak Lover Stakes (1200m) as a filly back in June.
Off a lengthy break, the now four-year-old is ready to return putting the writing on the wall with a nice late November barrier trial success at Ballina.
All Over Bosanova is two-from-three first-up and gets in on the 54kg minimum from a gun barrier two draw with Luke Rolls in the saddle on Saturday.
Occupying the second line of Bribie Handicap betting and the early market mover is Colinelle ($5.50 into $5) drawn one wider in gate three and also well-weighed on 54kg.
Steven O’Dea saddles-up the Denman five-year-old who resumed at Doomben on November 25 running just a neck back third to Khalama over 1050m as the narrowly beaten favourite.
He returns to the track and distance second-up fitter for the run and looking for his first win since saluting here in mid-March with the 3.5 length victory over Tactician.
The other best in betting giving the weight away carrying the equal 59kg top weight is Pinch River ($6.50).
Ron Stewart rides the Denman six-year-old, prepared by Brisbane’s leading trainer Robert Heathcote, from gate five first-up.
Pinch River is a fresh flyer (6:3-1-0) and is out to atone for the luckless 13th to Jumbo Prince at Toowoomba in the Listed Weetwood Handicap (1200m) back in April.
Prior to that he won back-to-back Doomben sprint races over 1050m and 1100m respectively by a combined winning margin of 7.8 lengths and it is that form he is out to return to this weekend.
A short-distance specialist, Pinch River is undefeated over the 1050m with a perfect four-from-four record and only needs to handle the hefty kilos to keep that record in check.
The other single-figure Bribie Handicap hopefuls this summer are Stuart Kendrick’s rails-drawn Tarzan ($8) chasing a fourth win on the trot, the Liam Birchley-trained Havasay ($8.50) who won all four starts last preparation and the aforementioned last start Doomben winning mare Khalama ($9.50) for Tony Gollan.
