Due to jump as Randwick Race 6 at 3:15pm (AEST), this year’s Group 1 $500,000 George Main Stakes (1600m) field is down to eight runners and all the money is on Chris Waller’s reigning champion.

Winx is into $1.09 George Main Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au and if successful, will become the seventh favourite in the past eight years to take out the weight-for-age mile showdown.

A once in a lifetime mare for connections, the six-year-old daughter of Street Cry has won her last 19 starts on the trot and is out to go one better than another famous mare from the same sire, American superstar Zenyatta.

Drawn the rails and coming off a win in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) when running down Red Excitement in a huge late sprint effort a fortnight ago, Winx is tipped to outclass her rivals once again.

Questions are floating about however regarding race tactics on Saturday and whether hoop Joshua Parr, on tearaway leader Red Excitement last start, has started a trend to be employed by rival jockeys taking on Winx.
