As just one of four horses to take out more than one Group 1 title at a mile or less last season, connections of ace filly Global Glamour are making an early appeal to get her into The Everest 2017 field this spring.

Only Chris Waller’s champion mare Winx, the Darren Weir-trained Black Heart Bart, Kris Lees’ Le Romain and Global Glamour enjoyed multiple elite level wins at 1600m or less for the 2016/17 Australian Racing Season.
The youngster on that list is the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Global Glamour, a three-year-old daughter of Star Witness who has already amassed close to $1.3 million in prize money.
Global Glamour was purchased for just $65,000 from the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sales by James Bester’s It’s All About The Girls Syndicate.
This week Bester spoke out about plans to chase a slot in the Restricted $10 million The Everest (1200m) for Global Glamour when the inaugural edition of the controversial new race takes place at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday, October 14.
Bester is hoping Global Glamour can fill the Australian Turf Club’s slot in the event, applications for which closed last Friday.
“The dual Group One-winning filly’s connections have expressed interest in the ATC slot and are hopeful that the club – and other slot-holders who may be seeking a horse – will appreciate just what the aptly-named Global Glamour’s participation might bring to the race,” Bester told AAP.
“Only four horses won multiple Group One races at 1600m or less last season – Winx, Black Heart Bart, Le Romain and Global Glamour.
“Of those, only Global Glamour and Le Romain won Group races over the course and distance of The Everest, Global Glamour taking out the Group Two Light Fingers and Le Romain the Group Three Southern Cross.”
Global Glamour’s Group 1 wins were achieved back-to-back last October when she put two lengths on her closest rival at Randwick in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) before defeating subsequent Myer Classic winner I Am A Star in Caulfield’s Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m).
She has posted just the one win since taking out the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) in Sydney during February.
She was last seen racing at Randwick during April’s ‘The Championships’ when a length back second behind Derryn in the Group 2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint (1200m).
Current all-in The Everest odds at Ladbrokes.com.au are led by triple TJ Smith Stakes winner Chautauqua ($4.80) followed by the Aidan O’Brien-trained Irish raider Caravaggio who recently won the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
The shortest-priced of the fillies in the mix is Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign ($8) who is set to kick off her spring first-up in the $500,000 Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on September 29.
Global Glamour meanwhile is listed as a $34 outsider in futures The Everest betting.
