Raiment Dominates 2017 Glenlogan Park Stakes Field & Odds

Godolphin’s dual Group 3 winning filly Raiment is the firming favourite in Glenlogan Park Stakes 2017 betting to enjoy a win in her first Brisbane run this Saturday at Eagle Farm Racecourse.

Due to run as Eagle Farm Race 6 at 3:15pm (AEST) on the Kingsford-Smith Cup Day card, this year’s $150,000 Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1300m) will feature the first two emergencies – Alaskan Rose and Mystic Opal – after the early scratching of Elle Lou and Nancy from the line-up.

Leading the updated Glenlogan Park Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au on the set weights plus penalties sprint for fillies and mares heading towards the $500,000 Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) on June 24 is Street Cry three-year-old Raiment ($3.10).

Drawn wide in barrier 15, possibly into 13 with the two other emergencies out, jockey James Doyle retains the ride after guiding her to victory at Royal Randwick last start on April 15 in the Group 3 James Carr Stakes (1400m).

That was her second win in three runs following another good performance on a mud Rosehill track when beating home Samantha by over three lengths in the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m).

Freshened-up since, Raiment comes off a Warwick Farm trial from earlier in the month and is expected to relish the rain-affected and roomy Eagle Farm track.

A further four other runners also sit under $10 in the Glenlogan Park Stakes betting markets including the $6.50 second elect Egyptian Symbol from the Sydney stables of Bjorn Baker.

A four-year-old daughter of Stratum, Egyptian Symbol won the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes (1200m) last December before being beaten under two lengths for her sixth in the Gold Coast Magic Millions Fillies & Mares race in January.

A Group 2 second at Randwick followed before her latest run produced a close fifth behind Secret Agenda in Adelaide’s Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) on May 6.

Down in grade this weekend and fitter second-up for the run, Egyptian Symbol is a definite danger from a good gate with Kiwi hoop Opie Bosson riding.

Third favourite at $7.50 is the remaining Peter & Paul Snowden-trained hopeful Artistry who jumps close to the inside from gate three with champion jockey Hugh Bowman riding.

Artistry is out to atone for two unplaced runs when seventh in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Crown (1300m) and eighth in the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic (1400m) a fortnight back at Scone.

Both runs were better than they read on paper seeing her defeated by under three lengths and she will enjoy coming back in distance after being hampered badly in the Dark Jewel.

Rounding out the single figure fancies are the rails-drawn Eckstein ($8) who won the Listed Mode Plate (1200m) at the track last December and the flying Miss Debutante ($9) chasing her third win on the trot after saluting in the Listed Denises Joy Stakes (1100m) at Scone on May 13.

Of the longer priced hopes value could lie in the likes of the 60kg top weight Miss Cover Girl ($14) last seen running third to Music Magnate in the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm in late April and the Kevin Kemp-trained four-year-old Sold For Song ($14).
