This Thursday marks the return of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic 2017 favourite Madeenaty who will step-out at Wyong for the first time since Melbourne Cup Day.

The David & Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Exceed And Excel filly will be out to retain her top elect status for next month’s $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) on the Gold Coast when she has her third career start this week.
She won her debut at Flemington on October 2 in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial (1000m) by over two lengths and was last seen finishing third as the beaten odds-on favourite back at the track on November 1 in the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes (1000m).
Jockey Mark Zahra was aboard for both of the Lindsay Park filly’s Flemington runs and retains the ride when she has her Sydney debut in Thursday’s $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic (1100m).
Currently Madeenaty is the $7 favourite in pre-field Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the lucrative feature running in Queensland on January 14.
Success this week in Wyong’s edition of the Magic Millions restricted sprint for two-year-olds will only confirm her position at the top of the Gold Coast odds.
Zahra is looking forward to getting back aboard Madeenaty and believes she will have no issues in her first go at racing right-handed.
“I have been to Euroa to ride her in two bits of work and she’s going great,” he told AAP this week.
“She had a jump-out last Wednesday going the opposite way and she went great.
“She’s a natural that way, so I think she’ll be very hard to beat there [at Wyong].
“I really liked her leading up to her first run because I had done a bit of work on her.
“She did what I expected and then I think you just have to forgive the second one [on Melbourne Cup Day].
“She had a low draw on the wrong side of the track and she beat the inside horses by like six lengths.
“She’s just got a stride of a good horse and has always impressed me.”
Last season’s Wyong Magic Millions Classic winner was the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Capitalist who went on to win the Gold Coast edition next race as well as the following autumn’s $3 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m).
