Thirteen Included in Tattersall’s Cup Field

Thirteen stayers have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s 2016 Listed Tattersall’s Cup (2100m) at Ascot Racecourse; highlighted by the inclusion of some of Perth’s most exciting gallopers.

Tonto will carry winning form into his Tattersall’s Cup appearance and has drawn ideally into the race in barrier 5, with Jason Brown in the saddle.

Posting seven wins and a further eight minors through thirty-one career starts so far, Tonto trialled well in the lead-up to his return this time before running a handy third amongst talented company in the BOQ Bunbury BM78 (1400m) on October 12th.

Progressing to sixth in the Listed Northam Cup (1600m), the Onemorenomore gelding savaged the line for a half-length win in the Listed Ascot Gold Cup (1800m) last time out and appears as though he will relish a step up in distance on Saturday.

Cougar Express failed to perform at his last start, but the six-year-old is positioned well to get a good trail into the Tattersall’s Cup from barrier 7.

Resuming for sixth in a minor over a mile at Belmont on August 6th, Cougar Express was completely luckless in the Coolgardie Cup (1760m), but responded well for second in the Listed Boulder Cup (2100m) on September 18th.

Returning to winning form in the Listed Kalgoorlie Cup (2300m) in his only other start prior to finishing ninth in the Ascot Gold Cup, the Danehill Express gelding will relish a return to 2100m and should prove extremely tough to beat in the 2016 Tattersall’s Cup.

Don’tgetcaught is another horse that has found winning black type form this season and appears as though he will be well suited to the Tattersall’s Cup, with only 56kgs in tow.

Checked in the running of the Coolgardie Cup, Don’tgetcaught responded with a blistering run for success in the Boulder Cup only a fortnight later.

Having since run fifth in the Kalgoorlie Cup and tenth in the Ascot Gold Cup, the Dangerous gelding could have reached the conclusion of his preparation, but his performance in the Tattersall’s Cup will determine the next course of action taken.
