The Geoff Durrant & Joe Miller-trained Sweet Ora has suffered a wide barrier draw ahead of her bid at a third straight win in Saturday’s Placid Ark Stakes 2016 at Ascot Racecourse.

The opening Black-Type race on the Railway Stakes Day card, this year’s $100,000 Listed Placid Ark Stakes (1200m) is set to run as Ascot Race 5 at 3:00pm (local time).
A final field of 13 hopeful three-year-olds will take to the track in the set weights plus penalties sprint including Oratorio filly Sweet Ora from barrier 12.
She has won six of her 10 career starts to date including back-to-back victories at Ascot leading up to her stakes debut in the Placid Ark.
Perth’s most prolific hoop William Pike continues his strong association with the ultra-consistent filly who hasn’t finished out of the money since her fifth on debut in October last year.
The only other last start winner in the field is Anne King’s Nicconi filly Akiko jumping from the far outside alley on the back of a 3.25 length win over 1216m at Bunbury on November 10.
Heading the field and weights on 56kg with Jarrod Noske to ride from a gun barrier four draw is the Ted Martinovich-trained Where’s Wally.
A son of Rogano the gelding races for the first time since a narrow defeat for third to Royal Missile at Belmont in September.
Saturday is his first look at the Ascot track and he comes off a 1000m Belmont trial win from November 7 to bring him on fitness wise ahead of his Perth Summer Racing Carnival assignments.
Also drawn well in the Placid Ark Stakes barriers include the Simon Miller-trained Caipirinha (3) and Paris Texas (2) who has Hong Kong’s Douglas Whyte riding.
Nicconi filly Caipirinha has won just one of her seven starts to date but that was in black-type class when beating Saul’s Special – a top fancy for Saturday’s $500,000 Group 2 W.A. Guineas (1600m) – home in the Listed Belgravia Stakes (1200m) on October 22.
She backed-up off that with a second to fellow WA Guineas hopeful Ellicazoom in the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) on Melbourne Cup Day and raced again last Saturday for a fifth in the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m).
Caipirinha drops back in both class and distance on the quick back-up this weekend and is a livewire chance to return to winning form.
Paris Texas is trained by Lindsey Smith, the nicely-bred daughter of Hinchinbrook taking on the boys on the back of a fourth over 1000m at the track on November 9.
The rails meanwhile belongs to the Sean Casey-trained Belter who is the lightest-raced three-year-old in the field having just his second career start.
On debut the Denman gelding ran a devastatingly close second to I Am Incredible over 1100m at Ascot on November 1 and looks well suited to the extra meters on Saturday dropping a kilo to 55kg.
