The final day of the 2016 Melbourne Cup Carnival is upon and we are set for a stunning day of racing at Flemington this afternoon.

A full field of 12 horses are set to contest the Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m), but there has been a notable scratching in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes (2000m).

Caulfield Cup runner-up Scottish was set to start the Emirates Stakes as one of the favourites, but he was withdrawn from the race yesterday afternoon due to an injury to his near fore fetlock.
