One of six Black-Type races on the Robert Sangster Stakes Day program, this season’s $100,000 Listed Seven News Queen Adelaide Stakes (1050m) has attracted 16 two-year-olds at nomination stage.

Sitting top of the entries and coming off back-to-back wins is Street Boss filly Tris.

Her latest start was also her Adelaide debut when taking out the Group 3 Breeders Stakes (1200m) by over a length at the track she returns to this weekend back on April 16.

Hayes & Dabernig’s Lindsay Park stable has also entered Moqla, a recent Morphettville winner over 1100m who failed to make an impression a fortnight back running eight in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1050m) at the track.

Along with Tris the only other last start winners in the mix are the Darren Weir-trained Gimlet who saluted on a Heavy (10) track at Warrnambool to win the VOBIS Gold Strike on Tuesday and the Leon & Troy Corstens-trained Nadeem filly Exilia Miss.

Exilia Miss has had two starts to date, failing on debut when 11th to Concealer in a Group 3 at Flemington last Melbourne Cup Day before her first-up win over 1000m at Bendigo on April 24.

Also high up the ratings is the Terry & Karina O’Sullivan-trained Moshki who is the best tried of the entries with seven career starts so far.

The Moshe filly has won one of those when having her first run at Morphettville on March 5 and running away to win the Listed Cinderella Stakes (1050m) by nearly five lengths as a 20/1 shot.

She returned to Adelaide’s main track on April 23 in the Dequetteville Stakes, but this time was beaten four lengths crossing fifth to Modern Wonder.

One of Sydney’s leading trainers Gai Waterhouse is in with a Queen Adelaide Stakes entry this autumn nominating for Real Saga filly Sylpheed.

She won at Wyong on debut on April 7 before her last start third over the same distance at Rosehill behind Impending a fortnight back.

Gordon Richards’ local Good Journey filly Posh Journey is the other non-maiden.

She won at Balaklava on April 13 two runs into her career and then finished seventh in the Dequetteville on April 23, a run she is out to atone for on the weekend in her second stakes’ assignment.

Other notable Queen Adelaide Stakes nominees this year include the Ciaron Maher-trained Nadeem colt Victory Eight who was runner-up to Exilia Miss on debut at Bendigo on April 24 and fourth in the same lead-up One Blink for Cranbourne trainer Chris Parry.
