Petits Filous has been set on a course towards the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) this time and remains clear $1.80 favourite in 2015 Quezette Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Jalan Jalan ($6.50) and Miss Gunpowder ($7).
Will Petits Filous continued her undefeated career start through the Quezette Stakes, or will one of her many talented rivals find the line in the clear?
1st
Petits Filous ($1.80)
Petits Filous has appeared on course only twice competitively leading into the 2015 Quezette Stakes but has more than stamped her claims as one to watch and is more than worth consideration for a bet at current odds. Debuting with a particularly impressive six length win in the Phonewords Handicap (1000m) on July 15th, the Street Boss filly repeated the dose, this time by two lengths in the United Refrigeration BM78 (1000m) last time out on August 1st. Allocated the ideal barrier 6, champion Jockey Damien Oliver has been confirmed to take the ride on Saturday.
2nd
Pearl Star ($41)
Pearl Star is a proven performer over course and distance, will leave from the rails draw in the Quezette Stakes, has been confirmed to be partnered by in-form Ben Melham and offers undoubtedly the best value for money in betting markets. Returning this year for a credible third in the Listed Cinderella Stakes (1050m), the Star Witness filly placed fourth in the Robert Taranto Handicap (1100m) on April 4th before taking out the Listed Dequettville Stakes (1050m) on April 18th. Having returned for a brief spell after placing third in the Listed Thoroughbred Club Cup (1200m) on May 2nd, Pearl Star has reportedly held great residual fitness and is more than capable of an upset this weekend.
3rd
Miss Gunpowder ($7)
Miss Gunpowder undoubtedly faces her biggest career test to date in the 2015 Quezette Stakes on Saturday but has more than earned her position in the field and is sure to receive a gun ride from leading hoop Dwayne Dunn. Debuting to racing for success in the Darley Handicap (1050m) on March 14th, the Pendragon filly returned this time for a near-two length win in the Irish Race Day RST68 (1100m) on July 25th and appears primed for another competitive performance in the Quezette Stakes.
