Lord Of The Sky ($3) has maintained outright favouritism in 2015 Bletchingly Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au despite drifting, ahead of Angels Beach ($4.80), Smokin’ Joey and Petrology; currently sharing the third line at generous $6.50 quotes.

Will Lord Of The Sky justify favouritism and return to the winner’s circle in the Bletchingly Stakes or will one of his many talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Petrology ($6.50)

The David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Petrology was unable to make much of a competitive impact in two Group 1 targets through early autumn but has reportedly taken huge benefit from his time in the paddock, has been confirmed to be partnered by champion hoop Damien Oliver and is more than worth consideration for a Bletchingly Stakes bet at current odds. Taking a few races to find his feet last spring, the son of Fastnet Rock saved himself from a gelding when winning each of the Listed TV Stakes (1800m) and Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) in succession. The colt will need some luck from a wide draw but is weighted well as a three-year-old.

2nd

Lord Of The Sky ($3)

Lord Of The Sky clearly needed the run when seventh in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) following a freshen-up three weeks ago but is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from the run leading into the Bletchingly Stakes. Undoubtedly finding career-best form to date this year, the Danerich entire ran on for an impressive fourth in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) on March 14th; progressing to an agonizingly-close second in the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) before again finishing just off the pace of Flamberge in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m).

3rd

Platinum Rocker ($8.50)

Ex-Perth galloper Platinum Rocker will have her first start for Lee and Shannon Hope in the 2015 Bletchingly Stakes, will carry a very manageable 56.5kgs and is sure to be offered a gem of a ride from leading hoop Craig Williams. Having posted a career-best result when second in the 2013 edition of the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m), the Love A Dane mare is yet to be seen on course competitively this year but should be perfectly suited to the conditions of the Bletchingly Stakes.
