Nominations for the two lucrative feature races on the Gold Coast Magic Millions Classic Day next month are now out including those for the richest race on the January program, the Magic Millions 2YO Classic 2015.

Open only to Magic Millions graduates, the $1.64 million Restricted $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) runs on January 10 and attracted 127 nominations this season.
Last year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner was the pre-race favourite Unencumbered who posted his fifth win at career start number six, and his fourth on the trot, to beat home Oakleigh Girl (2nd) and Ruby Soho (3rd).
The Bjorn Baker-trained colt came via wins in both the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m) in Sydney and the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at Doomben in December.
Next summer Baker could be back looking for successive wins in the classic with a nomination for his unraced Testa Rossa filly Credit Card Miss.
This year’s Wyong Magic Millions Classic meanwhile runs on December 18 followed by Brisbane’s BJ McLachlan Stakes on December 27 at the Gold Coast, two races sure to determine top fancies at Ladbrokes.com.au for the big one a fortnight later.
An early Magic Millions winning juvenile on the path is this year’s Wyong Magic Millions Clockwise Classic winner Carriages.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained daughter of Hinchinbrook debuted at Randwick on November 8 when third behind Mine Two, improving on that at Ballarat on November 22 when beating home Prompt Return and Moral Outrage by two and four lengths respectively in a tough run.
Waterhouse has a total of 13 Magic Millions 2YO Classic nominees for next month including Chloe’s Comet who debuted with a third behind 2015 Golden Slipper hopeful Aegean Sea at Kensington on November 22, More Than Ready colt Ready Already and the promising filly Right Of Way.
Sydney, and Australia’s, top trainer Chris Waller also has a strong hand numbers-wise in this summer’s Magic Millions Classic with 11 hopefuls in the mix.
A host of two-year-olds preparing for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic will face off at Doomben this Saturday in the $100,000 Listed Phelan Ready Stakes (1050m) including the Barry Mitchell-trained Wicked Intent.
The so far very impressive Wicked Style colt is undefeated with two career wins in Queensland already under his belt, a third pending this weekend if he’s accepted for his first black type assignment.
Wicked Intent won first-up at the Gold Coast over 900m in October before racing again on November 29 at Doomben to score a blistering four and a half-length victory over Mishani Honcho in a 1050m 2YO handicap and earn Magic Millions talks.
The other headline Phelan Ready nominee on the Magic Millions Classic path is then the Paul Butterworth-trained colt Wicked Investment who has run third in two 1050m Doomben runs so far.
Other promising two-year-olds in the Magic Millions mix this season include Beneteau gelding It’s Vegas Baby, the Sam Kavanagh-trained Invincible Dame, and the David Hayes & Tom Daberning-trained stable mates Moral Outrage and Miss Idyllic.
Stratum colt Moral Outrage improved on a seventh on debut behind Pierrette in October when third behind Carriages in the Wyong Magic Millions Clockwise Classic.
Miss Idyllic is also well tested with three runs for two second place finishes so far including her debut when second behind Of The Brave in the Listed Debutant Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on October 11.
She was Group 3 performed next start at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day when a close fourth over 1000m on November 4 before her last start second when a nose off Bantam over the same distance at Moonee Valley on November 29.
