Local horse owner Bob Peters could very well dominate the entire race card at Ascot this Saturday, with a number of horses representing him in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m), Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m), and Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m).
The three-year-old gelding is currently paying $2.30 at Ladbrokes.com.au to win the race after the market mover shortened from his opening price of $2.40.
Disposition has won all four of his career starts, which include the Listed Belgravia Stakes (1200m) and Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m). The gelding has will get an ideal start in the WA Guineas after drawing barrier two, though Peters is wary how the horse will do stepping up to the mile for the first time.
“He’s going along okay and barrier two should be good for him,” Peters told Perth Racing.
“At this time of year they are young horses and anything can happen.”
A lot is riding on Disposition’s run in the WA Guineas, including a possible tilt in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) a fortnight later.
Peters will also be represented by fillies Ideal Image and Delicacy (both paying $15) on Saturday, who are both backing up from the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) last Saturday, which Delicacy won and Ideal Image finished third in.
Peters is disappointed his two fillies both drew poorly in barriers 10 and 11 respectively, believing they could have been strong contenders if they drew inside barriers like Disposition.
Both fillies have only tasted defeat once, finishing third in the one race they didn’t win.
All three horses are trained by Grant Williams at his Karnup stables.
