Running as Race 4 at 2:25pm, this year’s $150,000 Listed All Victorian Sprint Series Final (1200m) features a quality field of 10 hopefuls.

Of those the red hot favourite at an odds-on price of $1.80 is Vain Queen.

Glen Boss has the ride on John Sadler’s Artie Schiller mare, the four-year-old coming off back-to-back wins, most recently carrying just 52.5kg to a big three and three quarter length win in Heat 8 of the series a fortnight ago.

Vain Queen goes up to 56.5kg for Saturday but is still looking like the one to beat in the Final having carried as much as 57.5kg before.

The only other single figure chance in the All Victorian Sprint Series Final odds at $7 is then Le Bonsir for Mick Price, the Choisir six-year-old coming off a Group 3 second to Lord Of The Sky in the Sir John Monash Stakes.

So are these the two that will run the All Victorian Sprint Series Final quinella on the weekend?

Or are you better off looking outside the top two with some juicy odds being offered for the likes of Pillar Of Creation ($10) after their third straight win and drawn well in barrier two, Shanghai Warrior ($10) coming off a third to Vain Queen and undefeated Shamardal four-year-old Corsica Lad ($11) having just their third career start?

Our 2014 All Victorian Sprint Series Final Trifecta Tip is #2 Le Bonsir from #6 Vain Queen and #4 Pillar Of Creation

1st

#2 Le Bonsir ($7)

Price’s gelding is on the short back-up having run at Caulfield last start, and they face a very smart mare here, but think an upset is possible. Should get a gun run from barrier five, and while they go up from 58.5kg to 59kg it’s a weight they can handle. Group 3 class last time out when second to Lord Of The Sky who is Group 1 bound in the spring. If the favourite is a little off her game will be ready to strike at a track they’ve got a decent record at (4-0-1-2).

2nd

#6 Vain Queen ($1.80)

Don’t think there will be much in it and she’s a deserving favourite but are tipping the magic run to end with a second here. She won over 1200m at Moonee Valley against her own kind with 52.5kg two back before her big win over the boys with the same light weight on June 28 here. If she repeats that with the extra four kilos she’s a definite one to watch in the spring. Think the kilos will weigh her down just enough to see her beat, but if anyone can guide her to victory it’s Glen Boss who replaces apprentice hoop Katelyn Mallyon in the saddle for Vain Queen’s first stakes assignment.

3rd

#4 Pillar Of Creation ($10)

Another in-form hope coming off back-to-back wins, Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra’s God’s Own four-year-old has a great barrier two draw with regular rider Damian Lane staying on. Carry 57kg here which is the same weight they had on their back last Saturday over the 1400m at Caulfield for their half-length win. Distance is ideal (10-2-2-2), not as flash down the straight but have run three seconds from nine Flemington starts so definite place chance.
