Launay is the Flemington Race 8 winner
Starting as the race favourite, Launay sat second behind Danzylum for the majority of the race while Orbit Express was third.
Coming into the final 200m Launay surged past Danzylum to win comfortable by 3 lengths. Orbit Express pushed through into second while Danzylum battled on for third from an impressive Playwright in fourth.
Second favourite Eraset never threatened in the 1400m race.
Trainer Peter Snowden said that four-year-old gelding Launay had a long range campaign planned with the hope of moving him up to 2000m races. Some races in Perth could be on the cards for Launay as part of his preparation.
