Today, Saturday February 19, racing fans and punters should be gearing up for a great day of racing with 11 TAB meets lighting up tracks around the country including the bumper 2011 Lightning Stakes Day programme at Flemington.
Saturday racing at Flemington will see three Group races take place including the marquee event, the $750,000 Group 1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) where the world’s highest rated sprinter Black Caviar resumes as the odds-on favourite.
Currently Black Caviar is at $1.35 to win the 2011 Lightning Stakes today at Luxbet while her closest rival is $5 second favourite Hay List.
The other major metropolitan meet running this Saturday is the action-packed Apollo Stakes Day schedule at Rosehill Gardens.
Headlining the Sydney race card today is the $250,000 Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m), betting on the weight-for-age showdown dominated by $3.50 favourite Hot Danish.
Three other Saturday metro meets are also on the agenda today with Doomben, Morphettville and Ascot host to plenty of super showdowns including a number of black-type races running at Adelaide and Perth.

Doomben racing kicks off at 1:20pm (AEDST) with the $50,000 Northpark Apartments QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap (1100m) where we are tipping #4 Easy Running with their ideal draw to win at just their second career start.
Lots of great Class and Handicap races on the Doomben card today including Race 7 – the AM Giles & Co Chartered ants Open Handicap (1350m) at 5:20pm (AEDST) and our favourite of the field is #7 Funtantes set to improve from their recent runs.

Two black-type features headline the Adelaide race card today.
First up is Morphettville Race 3 – the $80,000 Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes (1050m) at 2:20pm (AEDST) where hot favourite #3 Chinchilla is the horse to beat.
Then Race 7 – the $80,000 Listed SA Port Adelaide Cup (2019m) takes centre stage at 5:00pm (AEDST) and with Larry’s Never Late out of the race we have our money on the in-form #6 Maunatrice seeking their fourth win on the trot today.
