2011 Perth Cup Final Field

The best race to help punters celebrated New Year’s Day for 2011 is the $400,000 Group 2 Perth Summer Racing Carnival meeting for the season.

The 2011 Perth Cup final field has been released by Perth Racing with a quality field of primarily local stayers ready to face off in the testing showdown.

Entries for the Perth Cup have been cut down from the original 49 horses that were nominated for the race back in early December to a capacity 16 runners plus one emergency.

Early favourites when the 2011 Perth Cup betting markets first opened at Luxbet included Grant William’s W.A. St Leger winner Ranger and C.B. Cox Stakes winner Colour Correct, the 57kg top-weight.

Below is the 2011 Perth Cup final field of acceptors, so see if the early favourites made the cut and then head to Luxbet for the betting markets and discover who the current favourite to win is.

The Group 2 C.B. Cox Stakes (2100m) has been an excellent guide for the Perth Cup in recent years with Lords Ransom taking out the C.B. Cox Stakes / Perth Cup double in the 2009-10 racing season, as did Cats Fun in 2007/2008.

A good betting tip then is to look at the top performers in the 2010 C.B. Cox Stakes, which ran at Ascot on Saturday December 18, when you are selecting the winner in the Perth Cup field. This year’s winner Colour Correct is sure to be a hot tip with the punters.

The other feature race on the New Year’s Day programme for Ascot is the $100,000 Listed Schweppes Summer Scorcher (1000m), also a great event to enjoy a punt on.

The Perth Cup barrier draw will be announced on Wednesday 29th December.

So check out the latest 2011 Perth Cup odds open at our preferred online bookmaker Luxbet now and lock in your selections at the best price in Australia!
