Walking Or Dancing Scratched From 2010 Doncaster Mile

Premier Randwick-based trainer Anthony Cummings now boasts a three horse assault on Saturday’s $1.5 million Group 1 Emirates Doncaster Mile (1600m) as first emergency Recoup De Fortune has gained a start following the scratching of Walking Or Dancing.

Winner of the Newcastle Newmarket, Walking Or Dancing has suffered a stone bruise leaving trainer Brett Partelle with no choice but to scratch the five-year-old son of Falvelon from Saturday’s race.

Big race specialist Glen Boss was engaged to ride Walking Or Dancing on Saturday, the champion hoop now left without a ride in the Group 1 feature.

Boss has an impressive five Doncaster Mile wins to his name, but will not get a chance to add a sixth on Saturday.

Four-year-old Recoup De Fortune will now take Walking Or Dancing’s place on the field in the Doncaster, ing more fancied stablemates Road To Rock and Prima Nova.

Walking Or Dancing had a brilliant start to their Sydney autumn campaign taking out the Newcastle Newmarket Handicap over 1400m on March 17.

But last start they had failed to fire running second last in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) won by the Chris Waller-trained Danleigh who is backing up with a run in the Doncaster.

Following their lacklustre performance in the George Ryder, Walking Or Dancing was given a week to freshen up in the paddock, with Partelle confident they would return with a much more impressive run in the Doncaster.

Current favourite for the 2010 Doncaster Mile is Typhoon Tracy at $3 with [iasbet].
