2009 Mackinnon Stakes Final Field & Barrier Draw

The final field and barriers for this Saturday’s Group 1 $750 000 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) were released this morning.

Jockey Brad Rawiller, who lost the ride on AAMI Victoria Derby fancy Extra Zero, still has a mount on Derby Day due to ride Caulfield Cup winner, Bart Cummings-trained Viewed in the weight-for-age Mackinnon. Viewed drew barrier 9 for the race at Flemington this Saturday.
Caulfield Cup third placegetter Vigor is also set to appear in the race drawing barrier seven, along with Rangirangdoo starting from gate four. The Chris Waller-trained Rangirangdoo thwarted the Moonee Valley track record for a mile last weekend with his Crystal Mile win.
Luca Cumani’s runner Cima De Triomphe has drawn barrier 10 and needs to finish in the first three to assure a Melbourne Cup start, though it is unlikely the international galloper will run in the November 3 event.

The Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes is race five on the nine-race card this Saturday and is due to commence at 2:05pm.
