Great galloper Hanks has won today’s Group 2 AAMI Vase at Moonee Valley (2400m).
He easily defeated Danny O’Brien-trained Spacecraft with Viking Legend, trained by Gai Waterhouse, in third. Hanks’ jockey Luke Nolen was impressive, manoueving around the tight Moonee Valley track with skill despite Hanks’ size.
The AAMI Vase has proved a good guide to the Victoria Derby in recent years, which Hanks is now in contention for.
