Whobegotyou has remained the clear favourite for Saturday’s Group 1 Tatts Cox Plate despite drawing barrier 10 at this morning’s Moonee Valley draw.
The first horse drawn was Mick Price’s Heart of Dreams who took his favourite barrier 3 while Gai Waterhouse’s Manhattan Rain drew last to end up with the outside gate, barrier 14 and her late entrant, Rock Kingdom drew barrier nine.
Lee Freedman’s imported galloper Speed Gifted, is using this Saturday’s race as a step up to next month’s Melbourne Cup after the gelding drew outside barrier 12.
2008 runner-up Zipping drew barrier 2 and is expected to do well as long as the track does not come up hard.
Zipping’s part-owner Nick Williams has stated that the eight year olds form is at the best it’s ever been in the past five years of racing.
So You Think is Cummings’ chance at a fourth Cox Plate and is luckily carrying a weight of just 49.5kg and is starting in barrier 7.
Making a strong comeback this year is New Zealand’s eight year old Sir Slick who had a poor campaign last season, however the gelding will hopefully ride stronger this year from barrier 11.
